"An intimate gem: a talented actress who has written a captivating script."

"Absolutely amazing performance. In my 18 years of coming to the Fringe, the best singing voice I have heard."

Allie Jessing is a classically trained yet utterly irreverent singer, actor, dancer, writer, and producer. With over a decade of operatic training, Allie earned her Master’s degree in Vocal Performance at the esteemed yet progressive Mannes College of Music at The New School in New York City.
Epitomizing the school’s entrepreneurial ethos, Allie won the first Marin Alsop Entrepreneurship award and created her independently produced multi-disciplinary show, Operesque: a striptease infused concert of classical, cabaret, and folk music. For her next trick, Allie wrote and produced Femmes Fatales: An Aerial Cabaret Fairytale, leading a team of seven talented instrumentalists, a clown, a burlesque artist, and a pole-dancing harpist, while singing and performing aerial burlesque simultaneously.
Allie is passionate about storytelling and prefers to perform her own original creations. A genre-pioneer, she is the creator of Hetaira, a multimedia historical fantasy drama that draws from mythology and features music from a variety of eras and cultures in languages like Old Norse and Ancient Greek. Allie wrote, produced, and performed a live version of Hetaira at Edinburgh Fringe to critical acclaim and is currently developing the work for digital media.
Her singing spans genres from classical to revivalist ancient folk music, including pop, rock, jazz, and musical theater. She has acted on stage and film in the US and Europe. Her dance experience ranges from ballet to aerial dance, and her writing includes, screenplays, stage-plays, lyricism, original music, and non-fiction. She has performed in venues from underground New York clubs to ancient hill-top Austrian prisons. She has performed leading roles in countless musicals and operas and thrills in singing over a full orchestra or in an intimate setting with just a piano. Amusingly, after her performance of Thomas Ades’ Life Story, a mere three days after the composer himself had performed it at another New York venue, an audience member announced that he’d seen both versions, and preferred Allie’s!
A passionate entrepreneur, Allie is the founder of Aspasia Media, a multi-media indie arts streaming platform targeted to revolutionize the arts industry and the career trajectories available to independent artists.
Allie’s artistry is an evolving, elegant tangle of influences. From the role of opera singer to experimental multi-disciplinary performance artist, she effortlessly straddles the worlds of the high and low brow while remaining dedicated to dismantling the status quo of industry and empowering artists and the arts.
